In just a few weeks, our nation will be voting not only for a new president and vice president, but also for other leaders, including senators and congressmen, both federal and state, and for governors and judges on different levels, all of whom have a direct and indirect effect on our lives.
Elections are very serious business, especially to God and to the kingdom of God. Voting is not optional in His eyes because The WORD says in Proverbs 29:2, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
So, when the wicked continue to elect the wicked, the people continue to suffer.
“Well, Brother Copeland, I don’t like either one of the candidates.”
Whether you or I like them or not has nothing to do with anything.
In the first place, there are more people running for office in this election than just those seeking the offices of president and vice president, as I mentioned earlier. There are also the platforms that form the agendas of each party—the platforms that these candidates are supporting—that we must consider. Those platforms are the big issue, especially to you and me as believers.
The planks in those platforms came out of people’s hearts. God pays very close attention to them, and to those who choose to stand on them. No one can stand on one plank and not the other. You’re not standing on a plank. You’re on the whole stage, which is made up of every plank.
The one that disturbs me the most is the abortion agenda of the Democratic Party. No one can vote for a candidate, knowing they are for abortion, without being an accomplice to murder. Let’s go to The WORD of God and see why aborting is just that—murder. We’ll begin with Deuteronomy 30:19:
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.
That tells us exactly what to choose—LIFE!
Now, let’s read Proverbs 6:16-19, New International Version-84.
16 There are six things The LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension
among brothers.
There is innocent blood, then, in the womb. Read what the Scripture says
in Psalm 139:13-16, (NIV-84):
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Did life start after birth? Of course not! Isaiah 44:2 (NIV-84), says, “This is what The LORD says—he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.” And in Isaiah 46:3 (NIV-84), the Scripture says, “Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all you who remain of the house of Israel, you whom I have upheld since you were conceived, and have carried since your birth.”
Since you were born? No, since you were conceived.
However, even that’s not when your life began. Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV-84), tells us: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
How many prophets do you suppose have been murdered in the womb?
Read what the Scripture says in Psalm 22:31 (NIV-84), Psalm 78:56 (NIV), Ecclesiastes 11:5 (The Amplified Bible, Classic Edition), and in Hebrews 12:9. You’ll see it is clear that a man and woman give birth only to the body. God is THE FATHER of the spirit. Let’s read them:
They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn—for he has done it (Psalm 22:31, NIV-84)!
But they put God to the test and rebelled against the Most High; they did not keep his statutes (Psalm 78:56, NIV).
As you know not what is the way of the wind, or how the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a pregnant woman, even so you know not the work of God, Who does all (Ecclesiastes 11:5, AMPC).
Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live (Hebrews 12:9)?
Notice that in Ecclesiastes 11:5 (AMPC), it says “the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a pregnant woman.”
When does a doctor pronounce someone dead? When the heart stops. Then when does the heart start? From 18 to 21 days after conception. Remember, however, Isaiah 46:3 (NIV-84) said, “…whom I have upheld since you were conceived.”
Now, read what the Scripture says in 1 Corinthians 3:17 (NIV-84):
17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple.
Sacred? Yes, SACRED!
No one can escape the God-given responsibility to pray—vote—and pray.
What about those who, in the past, have either not voted or voted against The WORD of God? Or those, men and women, who have gotten an abortion or were responsible for someone getting one? Read what The LORD says in Isaiah 43:25. This is the greatest scripture of all:
25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
Hebrews 10:17 says, “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” And in Hebrews 12:2, it reads:
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
THANK GOD! THANK GOD! THANK GOD FOR THE BLOOD! He, JESUS, bore our shame when He bore our sins in His own body.
Let’s look at Jesus in John 8:3-11:
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, LORD. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Has Jesus changed since then? NO! He’s not out to condemn. He has already borne that sin. All He needs is for that person to act on 1 John 1:9 and release faith in HIS FAITHFULNESS and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, and cast all the guilt and shame over on Him—ONCE AND FOR ALL! Take Him at His WORD. He remembers what He did on the Cross. The Father remembers what He did on the Cross. Now you forget everything He has forgotten and remember what He remembers.
Jesus is interested in one thing: YOUR AND MY FREEDOM, and the freedom of every living soul on this planet from sin, shame, sickness and poverty. That’s your, Gloria’s and my job, along with all of us here at KCM and EMIC. That’s who we are, and that’s what we do. That freedom in Christ Jesus is what the prayers and nancial seeds you sow every month are empowering and supporting.
I know that other ministries have wonderful partners, but no one has Partners like Gloria and me. I mean it! You’re the best! You’re one in a million!
Gloria and I love you and pray for you every day.
